Meggitt braking system enters service on Gulfstream G600

Meggitt PLC, a leading international company specialising in high performance components and subsystems for the aerospace, defence and selected energy markets, announced today its fully integrated braking system entered service on the Gulfstream G600. In addition, a similar system on the G500 fleet has reached more than 2,000 flight hours in less than six months.

Meggitt is the sole supplier of braking systems for Gulfstream’s in-service fleet and supplies a fully integrated braking system for the G500 and G600 aircraft, including: the main and nose wheels, carbon brakes, the tyre pressure monitoring system, brake control system, brake temperature monitoring system and full auto-brake capability via touchscreen controls.

Meggitt’s General Manager of Braking Systems, Brian Bondarenko, said: ‘Meggitt continues to expand brake and brake control system design to include ATA32 control and monitoring capability as exemplified on the G500 and G600 aircraft.’
