What you’ll need?
- You’ll need to have the right to work in the UK
- You’ll need to have lived in the UK/EU/EEA for at least 3 years
- You’ll need to be 16 year old or over by September 2022
- You’ll need to have finished full-time education by September 2022
- You can’t be studying for any other qualification at the same time as doing an apprenticeship
- You’ll need to have a grade C/4 or above in Maths, English Language and a science subject
What is the role?
- You’ll spend 20% of your time learning (mixed between classroom, virtual and online learning and training)
- You’ll perform a perform a range ofâ¯tasks relating to your specialism area which could include:
- Manual Machinery
- Routine assembly of intricate Mechanical or Electromechanical parts and components in accordance with company instructions and procedures
- Calibrate and conduct test routines at sub-assembly and GA levels
- Carry out production processes such as welding (automated and manual), vacuum brazing, swaging, potting, etc
- You’ll maintain input to business information systems
- You’ll carry out housekeeping
- You’ll adhere to and demonstrate all safety policies and procedures
- You’ll learn and apply practical applications of competencies such as 6S and Lean manufacturing principles
- You’ll apply proven techniques and procedures to solve engineering/manufacturing problems
- You’ll demonstrate effective interpersonal skills in communicating both technical and non-technical information
- You’ll have a commitment to continued professional development
