Meggitt, a leading international company specialising in high performance components and sub-systems for aerospace, defence and energy, has won a contract to provide components for seven Hamilton Sundstrand thermal management packages on Pratt & Whitney PurePower® geared turbofan™ (GTF) engines.
The engine family will power aircraft such as the new Bombardier C-Series regional jet, Mitsubishi Regional Jet and Airbus A320neo aircraft.
The packages, from Meggitt’s control systems division, comprises valves, coolant pumps, oil coolers and heat exchangers estimated to be worth around $1 billion over the lifetime of the engine and aircraft programmes.

Meggitt was awarded these contracts by Hamilton Sundstrand, which provides the thermal management sub-systems for Pratt & Whitney’s PurePower® engine suite.
