Meggitt PLC (“Meggitt” or “the Group”), the international aerospace, and defence group, is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary Vibro-Meter UK has signed an exclusive contract with Rolls-Royce to integrate the complete sensors and ignition package for a new member of the BR700 engine family.

The contract will cover the life of the engine programme and should generate revenues of over $30 million for Vibro-Meter from the sale of new engines. Vibro-Meter will also provide aftermarket services through the life of the programme, direct to future aircraft operators and to Rolls-Royce under its Corporate Care model.

The package comprises an engine set of around 35 parts covering sensors for air, oil and fuel temperature, shaft speed, oil and fuel pressure, fuel flow and oil debris monitoring and the engine’s ignition system. The package includes sensors developed in-house at
Vibro-Meter UK. The ignition system is being developed by a Meggitt sister company,
Vibro-Meter France and several key technologies will be provided by Vibro-Meter UK’s selected sub-tier partners. Part of the package will be produced by Meggitt’s sensors and controls facility in Xiamen, China.
